Year 10 Careers

Careers Support 1 to 1

To support your learning and help you to make informed decisions about the future, we are delighted to be working with the Elev8 Careers Service. The team would normally have met with you 1to1 in school. Unfortunately this isn't possible right now so we are looking to sort out meetings on google hangout or by phone.

Please fill in the link https://www.getcareerconfident.co.uk/parents/11-video-call with a parent/carer or guardian to sort out a 1 to 1.

Post 16 courses

This is also a great time to look at post-16 courses.

A list of local post-16 providers is listed below...

The UCAS further education site https://www.ucas.com/further-education is really useful to find out where courses are run locally.

Most exam boards have a section linking GCSE to A level, e.g. AQA Biology

The exam boards are the same for GCSE. Look for the qualification section and follow the links

BTECs/NVQs and other vocational qualifications will have guidelines associated with  the course. Checking the provider’s website would be the best place to start.

If you are considering an apprenticeship, whilst communication may be limited, at present, please try https://amazingapprenticeships.com/vacancies/ and/or https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship

Work Experience

Unfortunately we don't know whether we will be in school by the time work experience rolls round in July. There is some work that needs to be done, at school, regarding health and safety checks, so it isn't a case of rolling up on the day. However, this does not stop you making an enquiry or those of you that have sorted it ( well done!) potentially going. It is all a little unknown so do not worry about it if it proves difficult to do.
