Human Rights and Holocaust Event at Chichester Cathedral

We were privileged to be able to take 10 year 9 students to the Human Rights and Holocaust Event at Chichester Cathedral on January 16th 2019.

Students took part in an interactive workshop exploring the story of how the Universal Declaration of Human Rights came into being and its significance that remains with us to this day. Students further considered how human rights are the fundamental rights and freedoms that belong to every single one of us, how we all have a role in promoting and protecting our rights. In addition to how the UDHR came into being following the traumatic events of World War Two.

Finally, the was a talk from Holocaust survivor Steve Frank, who experienced first-hand the atrocities of World War Two whilst living as a child in Amsterdam.
