Welcome to Drama! In this practical and creative subject, students get the opportunity to develop their imaginative skills and confidence. Students will explore a variety of styles of drama in a safe and supportive learning environment. They will get the opportunity to use drama-based resources such as costume, props, staging and sound, to further help develop their creative and imaginative skills.

Drama also helps students to develop their communication skills, team skills and presentational skills, whilst building confidence both in the classroom and outside of school.

Key Stage 3

Year 10

Extra Curricular Drama

Performing Arts club runs afterschool weekly and is offered to all year groups. The club enables students to participate in a range of drama-based activities and projects throughout the year, further developing their performance skills and collaborating with students from other year groups.

The students will work towards performances throughout the year:

The Christmas concert, where they will show case their extra-curricular drama work from the Autumn term. This year we will be putting on a whole school musical production, which will also be performed to local primary schools.

The whole school production, which will take place at the term. The students will have been working on this through extra-curricular sessions within the expressive Arts subjects; Drama, Art and Music.

Finally, the summer concert, whereby students are encouraged to take part in short devised performances, which they will have worked on in Performing Arts club from the beginning of the summer term and will be showcased at the summer concert.
